Tips for Getting a Good Psychic Reading

Some people get too many readings by too many
people.  Yikes.  It's like having too many GPS mon-
itors going at once!  Read more here: Addicted

I don't know how I, or any other reader gets psychic information.  Perhaps one day science will explain it!  For now, the best we could do is try to understand it with analogies that come close to explaining the phenomena.

Here's an analogy I thought might help shed some light on how a it works: think of the reader as your GPS navigating equipment.  And think of your energy (your life, your soul) as the location we're trying to triangulate and read.  To get the best reading from "the equipment," the following tips might help...

Before the Reading

1.
Think about the top 1 to 3 most important issues in your life, and write your questions down.  Have these with you during your reading.  The reader may pick up on these issues before you even say anything about them beforehand.  But if not, you could ask your questions at the end of the reading.

2.
If you are agitated (i.e., angry, very sad, etc.), it kind of creates a somewhat of an energetic "firewall" around you.  This does two things: it makes it more difficult for the reader to get a clear read of your true energy.  Also, it tends to block you from opening up enough to properly understand and process the information the reader attempts to share with you.  Your mind will be too busy thinking about what made you mad, etc. and you'll miss the message of the reading.

So if you are agitated, don't call for a reading right away.  Invest a little time in diffusing your emotions first, relaxing your body, and relaxing your mind.  Here are some techniques I might suggest:
  • Take a relaxing shower or bath.  Imagine your troubles rinsing off your body, and flowing down the drain, OR
  • Take a stroll around the block, breathing deeply and clearing your mind, OR
  • Listen to some calming music for at least 5 full minutes, closing your eyes and breathing deeply  OR
  • Meditate for at least 10 minutes, OR
  • Say a prayer to the Universe, the god of your understanding, your angels, or anyone/anything else with which you feel a spiritual connection.  Express gratitude, and ask them to help with the reading, OR
  • Anything else you think of, BUT...

 3.
Whatever you do, don't put yourself under the influence of drugs or alcohol before a reading session.  Not cool.  All this does is "scramble" your energy "signal," making it disorganized and again, harder for the reader to read.  This wastes everybody's time, as well as your money.  Some readers will sense inebriation of any kind and just terminate the session immediately.

4.
Also, if your intention is to "test" a reader, just be honest and let them know ahead of time that that is your intention.  There are readers who don't mind this.  Some, for instance, regularly work with, say, crime investigators, and are used to having to penetrate skepticism-fueled firewalls of law enforcement personnel to "prove" their psychic abilities.  So, I suggest you conduct your test on one of them.  But most readers, like me, find skeptical energy simply another "firewall" blocking a clear reading.

During the Reading
1.
Take notes, or feel free to record the session if you'd like. Some readers don't like their sessions recorded in any way, and I would question the reader why that is before scheduling a reading.

2.
Most readers at least need to hear your first name (or nickname), last name, and age (all that I need).  The purpose of this is to "triangulate" your energy signature, and better distinguish it.  Some readers might request additional information like your birthdate, your astrological sign, the location in which you reside, and other stuff.  I don't need all that, but each reader works differently.

3.
Important:  Readers may need a moment or two to silently hone in on your energy, to listen to the messages your soul and the energies around you have to "say."  Also, they may pause throughout the reading and do this.  Don't feel the need to fill in every silence with your words (some people when they're nervous tend to start chattering incessantly).  Let the reader think

4.
To help the reader establish whether or not she is heading in the right direction, she may pause and ask for confirmation.  Give brief answers ("Yes, that's correct," or "No, that's not correct," or "I'm not sure, please clarify").  Don't elaborate beyond that, and especially don't volunteer details ("feed the psychic"), as it creates biases in the psychic's mind and "clouds" the information.

6.
Often toward the end of the reading readers might suggest actions steps they think your guides want you to take in order to help you accomplish your life purpose.  This is meant to empower you, help you be proactive in finding solutions in your life.  But again, how you proceed is up to you, and you don't have to do anything you don't want to do.

After the Reading
1.
Remember that no matter what the message of any psychic reading is, you always have the power to change almost any outcome. The psychic is just reporting what he or she subjectively perceives the outcome would be if the situation continues in its current "trajectory."   Your actions and outside factors could change that trajectory, and therefore change its final outcome.

2.
Having said that however, people have free will and you can't change what they want to do, how they feel, etc. (for example, you can't make someone want to be with you).  Also, there are some things you're now experiencing which are the results of seeds you've sown.  These things probably won't change.   If a reader's getting a "no" on something you really want to be a "yes" (or vice versa) try to keep in mind that a reader's job is to tell you what they're honestly perceiving, not what you want to hear.

3.
Different readers may perceive different outcomes to the same question.  If you want to get a second opinion, that's fine.  But try to avoid "reader hopping," getting addicted to readings.  At some point you just have to cowboy up and act.  A reading isn't supposed to make you fearful about moving forward.

4.
Sometimes there's a time lag between the reader's insights and actual events happening.  For instance, he might see a baby coming but you're not even pregnant yet.  Or the baby could be a metaphor for a new project you will be "giving birth to" in the near future (I had received a reading like that from another reader before), that you hadn't started at the time of the reading.  It would be counterproductive to argue with the reader ("But I'm celibate right now.  I can't get pregnant!") over what he or she sees.  Again, their job is to tell you what they're honestly seeing.  Mentally "file" whatever information comes up, and review your notes from time to time to see what has come to pass, what hasn't, etc.

5.
Find ways to regularly sharpen and develop your own intuitive "GPS equipment" -we all have it. You'll find it's quite fulfilling to improve your ability to trust and and regularly use your own powers of intuition.

I hope this information has been helpful.  Thanks for reading.
